Cookies!

My sister make the best chocolate chip cookies. I know every body thinks they have found the best ones, or they're still looking. But, these are seriously the best.

The only thing you have to decide is, do you like yours krispy or gooey?

Slightly adapted from 'Betty Crocker's Best of Baking'

1\2 cup granulated sugar
1\2 cup packed brown sugar
1\3 cup butter, softened
1\3 cup shortening
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1\2 heaping cups all-purpose-flour
1\2 teaspoon baking soda
1\2 teaspoon salt
6 ounces chocolate chips

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix sugars, margarine, shortening, egg and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 4 minutes turn and bake for f4 more minutes (we like ours gooey.) Cool slightly before removing from cookie sheet. Cool on flat clean surface.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm in need of some icy cold fresh milk. :D

Movie time...

I just finished watching Cinderella with my four year old sister. She brought it to me and asked me to watch it with her. You know the ooooolllldd Disney version. The "timeless classic" I guess it is. We have the old VHS too, no Blue Ray HD whatever. Good old fuzzy VHS that doesn't get scratched when you leave it sit on the shelf out of it's case.
I remember watching Cinderella when I was a little girl with my sister. It was never my favorite but I still remember watching it. And I didn't really want to watch it tonight either but it was totally worth it to see my little sister's reactions. Especially at the end when the glass slipper gets broken and Cinderella pulls the other one out of her pocket, my sister clapped her hands together and yelled "It is hers!" :) Timeless.

Gardening...

Today I decided to get up early and weed my garden. What! Yes I weeded. My sadly neglected garden, looked more like a jungle really than a garden. I've been so busy lately, its been hard to find time to do a lot out side when it's not raining or too hot (my garden is full sun.) I got half of it done, though I would have liked to work on it longer it was time to milk.
As I was pulling the weeds up I noticed these tiny green spiders all over the place! Unfortunately I couldn't get the camera to focus on them so none of the pictures turned out. However I was able to look it up and I'm pretty sure this is what they are...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enoplognatha_ovata

Here's my garden...

Why is there a bed in my garden?

Because it's going to look really cool when the Thunbergia I planted starts climbing on it, that's why.

Boo!

I got a kitty!

Some one was giving them away at the farmers market on Saturday. So I talked my mom into letting me get one. He's not very photogenic...

But he does have glowy green eyes.

We've named him Boo.

Greetings!

Hello everybody! I've decided to give blogging a try, just because I want to share my business with you. Guess I should start bye introducing my self, (even though I already did that in my profile.)
I'm Rebekah. I'm 19, I'm the third oldest of ten awesome children. I own a car and do not have my license yet. It is important that you know this. Don't ask me why, I don't know.
I moved from St. Louise MO, about six years ago, to a teeny tiny town in south east Nebraska. We actually live right outside the town on a six acre piece of land, we like to call LOMAH Acres (which stands for Land Of Milk And Honey.) We raise dairy goats. My mom makes goat milk soap which we sell at four farmer's markets in the summer and various craft shows in the fall and winter.
O.k. that's all for the first post. Goodnight!
